Marco Baldonado was born in Toronto, Canada. He is a Third Culture Kid from a family of Filipinos and Italians.

Marco studied Image Arts at Ryerson University. Upon graduation in 2013, Marco was hired by PS Production Services as a warehouse worker.

After a year, Marco was hungry for more, so he hung up his warehouse broom (yet occasionally busting it out) and he made a career in commercial and photography productions.

His debut short film TOTO (starring his Nonna) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to win Best Short Film at Blood in the Snow. His commercial work has been shortlisted for Best New Director at the AICP Awards, Tribeca X, ADCC, and the Marketing Awards.

Marco is a hands-on creator who thrives at the intersection of art and technology. From producing films for SickKids and the Ontario Science Centre to editing a documentary for Walter Klassen FX. He balances strategy and soul while delivering emotionally resonant stories that support fundraising and brand awareness.

Marco brings a rich cultural perspective to his work. Shaping stories that are comedic, tender, and visually distinct. He believes in the transformative power of storytelling. Whether it be through cinema, photography, at the kitchen table, or in virtual reality.
